Where to eat in Praia do Rosa & Ibiraquera: bistro to beach
Quick answer
Praia do Rosa and Ibiraquera hold one of the richest food scenes on the Santa Catarina coast: oysters farmed in the Ibiraquera Lagoon itself, freshly landed seafood and contemporary cooking, all within a few kilometers. The centrinho, Rosa's three-block village center, holds most of the tables; Ibiraquera adds beachfront dining, a fish market and grocers.

How this list is chosen
This is our opinion as hosts, not an advert. Nobody pays to be on it.
A place only makes this page if we have never left disappointed. Not once: every time. It is the only test we apply, and it leaves out plenty of good kitchens that have a good night and a bad one.
It is not about hype, about being seen, about the weight of the name or the size of the bill. It is about what reaches the plate and how the room feels. Some of the best meals in the region are cheap, and some of the most talked-about addresses are not on this page.
The best restaurants in Praia do Rosa
For a dinner worth planning around, four that have never let us down:
- Refúgio do Pescador: Chef Jéssica's contemporary menu, built on the fish that arrives that day and the restaurant's own garden. Few tables: book.
- Cruo Restaurante: Chilean-Japanese fusion. It's where we take visitors who say they've eaten everything already.
- Restaurante Engenho do Mar: on Rosa's southern point, open sea views, seafood and pasta.
- Ragù cucina italiana: the centrinho's Italian. Fresh pasta made in-house, a loud room in summer, a sidewalk table when the night allows.
Restaurants in the centrinho
Three blocks hold most of the scene. Beyond Ragù and Cruo, above:
- Goen Sushi Lounge: the fish is whatever came in that week, not whatever's on a fixed menu. Good for a drink that turns into dinner.
- Chiang Mai Thailand Restaurante: Southeast Asian in a warm room, one of the village's most consistent addresses.
- Cantina Nonna Ines: the centrinho's quick lunch. A fairly priced buffet where the food is always fresh, which at a buffet is exactly what usually is not. It is where we eat when the day is short.
- ONA cozinha and Luz de Alice: contemporary cooking with local ingredients.
- NOMAD: an easy midday stop.
Eating with your feet in the sand, in Ibiraquera
Restaurante Tartaruga, on Praia de Ibiraquera, is the beachfront reference: run by local residents and fishermen, with seafood landed that morning. It's the region's classic long lunch.
For a more chef-driven table on the Ibiraquera side, Zen Bistrô is worth the detour.
Bars in Praia do Rosa
The night runs on two rhythms: movement in the centrinho, quiet toward Rosa Sul and the beach path.
- Baixo Rosa: live music in the middle of the forest, right in the centrinho.
- Mini Cocktail Bar: signature cocktails and classics reinvented with local fruit.
- Aloha Bar: feet in the sand, late afternoon, no hurry.
Cafés and bakeries
- MAWA Café: specialty coffee and brunch, European cosmopolitan style. The morning stop before a day at Rosa Norte or Ouvidor.
- Leggero Bakery: sourdough. A bakery, not a restaurant: this is breakfast and bread to take away.
- Lorenza Gelateria: the gem on this list. Gelato taken seriously, and not just by local standards: it is hard to find anywhere in the region that comes close, on the product or on the service. If you try one thing from this page, make it this one.
What stays open off-season
In high season (December to March, plus July) everything runs on extended hours and booking is advised. Off-season, about half the places cut days and hours. Worth confirming before you go.

Where to shop if you're cooking
The Ibirahill houses have fully equipped kitchens, and the region makes it easy:
- Peixaria do Sena (Campo D'Una): local fish and shrimp, same day. The best option for cooking at home.
- Supermarket Silveira (Campo D'Una): range, imported goods and a good butcher.
- Mercado Supra (Ibiraquera): the essentials, express: firewood, charcoal, beer, last-minute supplies.
Chef for a day: the Ibirahill experience
With this many options, a night in still counts as special. We designed the three houses with full kitchens: a built-in invitation to grill a fish bought at Peixaria do Sena, or build a board from whatever the day turned up.
