2 days in Praia do Rosa
Quick answer
Two well-planned days in Praia do Rosa cover three beaches (Rosa, Luz, Ibiraquera), one lagoon, one trail, two meals in the Centrinho, and, in season (July to November), whale watching. For guests staying at Ibirahill, on Morro Elegante, every distance is between 3 and 15 minutes.
Day 1 — Praia do Rosa
Morning
- 8am: breakfast at Ibirahill: request the basket for two and enjoy it in bed.
- 9:30am: Praia do Rosa Norte, a swim and a walk on the sand.
- 11am: climb to the Mirante do Rosa Sul for a panoramic view of the bay.
Lunch
- 12:30pm: on weekends, Restaurante Engenho do Mar: fish and seafood. In low season and on weekdays, Cantina Nonna Ines: near the Centrinho de Ibiraquera.
Afternoon
- 2:30pm: Praia do Luz, a 15-minute walk through the Atlantic Forest from Ibirahill (or 3 minutes by car): silence and sand, with the forest coming down to meet the water.
- 5:30pm: back to Ibirahill for the late afternoon from the hillside, to the sound of the forest.
Evening
- 7pm: a drink on the deck with a view, a firepit, or a soak in the pool or the hot tub.
- 8:30pm: dinner in the house, or head to the Centrinho do Rosa: pick a restaurant from our guide.
Day 2 — Ibiraquera and whales
Morning
- 8am: breakfast at Ibirahill.
- 9am: Lagoa de Ibiraquera. SUP, canoe, or a walk along the sandbar, with a view of Ilha do Batuta.
- 11am: in season (July to November), watch the whales directly from the sandbanks or the headland that separates Ibiraquera from Praia do Luz.
Lunch
- 1pm: shrimp and fresh fish at Restaurante Tartaruga, feet in the sand, a traditional Ibiraquera spot.
Afternoon
- 3pm: Praia de Ibiraquera, a swim and rest on the sand.
- 4:30pm: a picnic facing Ilha do Batuta, sheltered from the wind. Ibirahill prepares picnic baskets on request.
- 6pm: sunset seen from the beach. Where the sea meets the lagoon is one of the best spots to watch it.
Evening
- 8pm: farewell dinner in the Centrinho do Rosa, at Restaurante Refúgio do Pescador.
For a single-day visit
Pick one zone: Rosa Sul (the mirante, the Centrinho, and the Mirante do Luz trail down to Praia do Luz) is the best choice. Or: Lagoa de Ibiraquera + Praia do Luz.
For 3+ days
Add Garopaba: Silveira, Ouvidor, Praia da Vigia and Praia Vermelha. See also things to do in Garopaba and the Praia Vermelha in Imbituba guide.
Frequently asked questions
Are 2 days enough in Praia do Rosa? Yes, enough to cover the three main beaches and the Centrinho. Three to five days allow more time to slow down and include Garopaba.
How do you plan a weekend trip? Arrival Thursday night, two full days, and Sunday morning for departure. Ibirahill is flexible on check-in and check-out, depending on availability.
What is there to do on a rainy day? Stay in the house: the architecture of Casa Galeria, Casa Ateliê, or Casa Bajau was built for the rain, with a view of the forest and silence to spare.
